The ceremony of presentation of the representatives of ZAK S.A. with the Authorised Economic Operator Certificate was held on October 6, 2010 at the Customs Office in Opole.

The right to use this Certificate was granted to the Company on March 23, 2009; however, its formal use starting date was April 6, 2009.

ZAK S.A is the first company in the Opole Region that was granted the Certificate.

What is the AEO?
The Authorised Economic Operator means a credible business partner entitled to use the facilities related to the customs control in respect of safety and security, as well as the simplifications provided for in the customs regulations. Therefore, this is not only an asset in terms of image, but also it attracts customers, because it is connected with simplification of the commercial procedures.
In order to be granted the above status, a company needs to fulfil several requirements regarding:

• proper observation of the customs requirements,
• proper system of management of commercial and transport registers, which enables to conduct a proper customs control,
• documented solvency, if practicable,
• proper safety and security standards.

Both to the Company itself and to the contractors the Certificate constitutes a confirmation that ZAK is a business entity credible to the administration of the whole European Union, guaranteeing the top quality within the abovementioned areas.

The AEO Certificate is recognised in all the EU Member States and ensures:

• easier in comparison to other entities access to the customs simplifications;
• lower number of goods and documents controls;
• priority treatment in the case of selection for control;
• holding the ID badge of a safe business partner.
